In this month’s issue of Africa Global Funds we asked industry experts about the best investment opportunities for equity investors in 2019. Read on to find more about markets and sectors favoured by fund managers (pp.14-15). 

On the private equity front, we looked into fundraising and exit activity in 2018 and the outlook for 2019. The fundraising environment in the Southern African region remained rather challenging in 2018, mainly due to the economic and political environment. This resulted in the decrease in the amount of capital raised by the industry (pp.16-17). 

Meanwhile, we learned that the exit environment for African private equity is much more robust and active than many realise (p.13).

Finally, we hear from Heleen Goussard  of RisCura on the new International Private Equity and Venture Capital Valuation Guidelines, and how these changes will impact the industry (p.22).
