Description

Exotix Capital, a specialist Frontier and Emerging Markets investment bank, has appointed Christopher Dielmann, formerly Research Analyst in the International Monetary Fund’s Strategy, Policy & Review Department.

Dielmann, who focused on analysis and policy implementation with regard to debt sustainability, restructuring and lending as part of the Debt Policy Division, joins Exotix as Senior Economist and will be primarily responsible for markets in Africa, including Egypt, Kenya and Nigeria and in South West Asia, including Bangladesh, Pakistan and Vietnam.

Before joining the IMF, Dielmann worked at Freddie Mac, Deloitte, and the World Bank. He holds degrees from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School and The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), and is a CFA charter holder.

Dielmann will work closely with Paul Domjan, Head of Research, Analytics & Data, and Stuart Culverhouse, Head of Macro and Fixed Income Research.

The position is with immediate effect.

“Christopher Dielmann’s appointment will complement our expanded research capability across the emerging and frontier markets through his deep understanding of IMF lending policy, debt sustainability analysis, and financial modelling,” said Culverhouse. “I’m confident that Christopher’s insights will be highly valued by our clients.”

Dielmann’s hire is the latest expansion for Exotix’s Research, Analytics & Data unit.

Exotix has also been expanding financials research with the hire of three new analysts last month for Nigeria, Pakistan and Vietnam.

Exotix hired Paul Domjan in June to run Exotix’s Research, Analytics & Data (RAD) unit.

Domjan previously founded Country Insights, which was acquired by Roubini Global Economics.

Exotix RAD produces research every day on over 160 companies and government entities around the world, more than any other Frontier Markets investment firm. The Exotix Research Portal, launched in June, helps to facilitate direct interaction with analysts and provide notice of client events.

In addition, RAD will enable clients to benefit from the firm’s unrivalled industry and market knowledge via the delivery of bespoke solutions.
Dielmann is the second senior hiring this week for Exotix, following the appointment of Matthew Pearson, former Head of Equities at ICBC Standard Bank, as Global Head of Equities. a
