Standard Chartered has appointed Roberto Hoornweg as Global Head of Financial Markets, a role he will assume at the end of January 2017.
Standard Chartered has appointed Roberto Hoornweg as Global Head of Financial Markets, a role he will assume at the end of January 2017.
Hoornweg will be based at the Singapore office and will report to Simon Cooper, CEO, Corporate and Institutional Banking.
In his new role, Hoornweg will manage Financial Markets business globally, which includes capital markets, commodities, and FX, rates and credit.
Hoornweg joins StanChart from Brevan Howard Asset Management, where he worked as a Partner and led the liquid portfolio strategies funds business.
Prior to this, Hoornweg spent three years at UBS Investment Bank in London, where he was Co-Head of the global fixed income, currencies and commodities division.
He also worked at Morgan Stanley for 17 years, where he held various senior roles in fixed income derivatives.
Cooper said: “While we are already leading in a number of financial markets products, we also recognise that clients’ needs are becoming increasingly sophisticated.”
