Old Mutual Emerging Markets (OMEM) has appointed Jonas Mushosho as CEO for the Rest of Africa.
With its growing presence on the African continent, the group said it believed the time is right to return its businesses in the Rest of Africa under one overall structure that will unlock more opportunities for growth and eliminate unnecessary duplication.
Mushosho, currently the regional CEO of Old Mutual Southern and East Africa, will take on the reinstated role of CEO for Rest of Africa with immediate effect.
A chartered accountant and MBA graduate, Mushosho is well-qualified to take up this position.
He has been an Old Mutualite for the past 26 years and acquired a wealth of expertise in life, short-term insurance and banking that is critical in driving the group’s Africa strategy forward.
Old Mutual’s West Africa business under the leadership of Zomunoda Chizura, and its East Africa and SADC businesses will report directly to Mushosho, who will continue to be based in Harare.
Iain Williamson, OMEM Interim CEO, commented: “It gives us great pleasure to congratulate Jonas on his appointment and we wish him every success with his new responsibilities.”
