Asselineau joins from Shearman & Sterling where he was Head of the Africa Group.
He has over 25 years of experience in advising a wide range of clients on projects in the infrastructure, mining and commodities and energy sectors across Africa.
Asselineau’s recent work includes advising on mining, rail and ports infrastructure projects in Guinea, Cameroon, Senegal, Democratic Republic of Congo and Ethiopia.
He has also advised clients on petrochemical projects in Algeria and Gabon, electrical plant projects in Cameroon, Togo and Côte d’Ivoire, as well as renewables projects in France.

He has spoken on issues related to natural resources in Africa and corruption control before UN, OECD and UK Parliament Anti-Corruption special commissions.
He has also served on the Council of French Investors in Africa.
