Mergence Investment Managers, a South Africa-based black-owned specialist fund manager, has hired Semoli Mokhanoi as Alternative Investments Strategist.
Mergence Investment Managers, a South Africa-based black-owned specialist fund manager, has hired Semoli Mokhanoi as Alternative Investments Strategist.
Semoli is a skilled strategist in the alternative investments industry with a strong track record of market penetration into several African countries.
He joins from Old Mutual Corporate & Old Mutual Africa, where he served as business development executive for over eight years.
His successes include setting up Old Mutual Life Assurance Company of South Africa in Lesotho, introducing a partnership between Old Mutual Kenya and the government of Uganda, and designing an administration strategy for the Government of Malawi through Old Mutual Malawi.
He started his career with Momentum Actuaries and Consultants in 2001, where he worked as a fund accountant and later an investment consultant.
Semoli serves as a non-executive director on boards of Lesotho Mining, Central Gauteng Mental Health Society and Senqu Holdings.
