Webber Wentzel, a South African law firm, has appointed Leslie de Bruyn as a partner in the firm's Corporate Practice in Johannesburg.
De Bruyn is the newest lateral partner hire, joining nine other partners appointed in the last 12 months as part of firm's growth strategy.
He specialises in regulated and negotiated mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets, joint ventures, real estate investment trusts, and resources transactions.
Prior to joining Webber Wentzel, de Bruyn practised corporate and commercial law at Ashurst (formerly Blake Dawson) in Sydney, Australia.
De Bruyn commenced practice at a top-tier law firm in South Africa (formerly Deneys Reitz, now Norton Rose Fulbright) in its corporate team where he gained extensive experience in M&A, ECM, corporate law, general commercial and mining transactions, and competition law.
De Bruyn obtained his LLB (cum laude) from North-West University.
He is an admitted attorney and notary public in South Africa and an admitted solicitor in New South Wales, Australia.
