The Carlyle Group has named Lauren Dillard as Head of the Investment Solutions business segment and Member of the Management Committee, based in New York.

Currently the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Investment Solutions, Dillard succeeds Jacques Chappuis, who will become a Carlyle Senior Advisor.

Glenn Youngkin, Carlyle President and Chief Operating Officer, said, “Lauren is the right person to lead Investment Solutions as we build upon the group’s momentum in 2015. Her 14 years at Carlyle and most recent roles as COO & CFO of Investment Solutions enable her to hit the ground running.”

“Lauren has a track record of strong leadership, product and service innovation, and keen strategic thinking and execution. We appreciate Jacques’s excellent work in building the Investment Solutions business and we are pleased he will become a Carlyle Senior Advisor,” he added.

Investment Solutions is one of Carlyle’s four business segments.

The others are Corporate Private Equity, Real Assets and Global Market Strategies.

Dillard will lead and oversee the segment’s three business units: AlpInvest, a provider of global private equity programs and related co-investment and secondary activities; Metropolitan Real Estate, a provider of real estate programs, co-investment and secondary activities; and DGAM, a provider of liquid markets solutions.

Before joining Investment Solutions in 2013, Dillard built and led the global tax and equity departments at Carlyle and worked on a number of firm transactions, including the public offering.

Prior to joining Carlyle in 2002, she served in the Tax Practice of Arthur Andersen.

Dillard is involved with a number of internal and external efforts to advance the role of women in private equity, including: founder and leader of Carlyle’s Women’s Employee Resource Group, member of the Private Equity Women Investor Network (PEWIN) and other industry initiatives.

Commenting on her appointment, Dillard said: “I am excited to work with the teams to build upon the strong momentum of the Investment Solutions business. Investment Solutions’ products in the market are well received, we are winning mandates and adding managed accounts. These developments demonstrate the strength of our teams and the opportunity in secondaries, funds and co-investment, and the liquid alternatives space.”
