The Public Investment Corporation (PIC) has appointed Sholto Dolamo to head its resources team.
The Public Investment Corporation (PIC) has appointed Sholto Dolamo to head its resources team.
Dolamo, who has 10 years’ experience within the mining and manufacturing industry, joins from STANLIB, where he served as an analyst and portfolio manager of STANLIB Gold and Precious Metals Fund.
Prior to that he served as an analyst and fund manager of the Resources Unit Trust at Momentum Asset Management.
He also serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Bauba Platinum.
Dolamo has a BSc in Chemistry from UCT, an MSc Engineering (Materials Science) from WITS, and an MBA from GIBS.
He worked at De Beers as a Research Scientist from 1995 to 2002, and was Head of Research at the Process Division of Lonmin Platinum from 2003 to 2006.
Dolamo “has been in resources for a long time including working for companies like Lonmin. He will be a great addition to our equities team at the PIC,” the corporation said.
The PIC’s board is also due to appoint a permanent successor to Elias Masilela, who resigned as chief executive officer in May this year.
