Emerging Capital Partners has appointed its Director, Nana Afoah Appiah-Korang to the board of directors for the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (GIIF).
As Board member, she will be responsible for providing strategic advice on viable infrastructure projects to be financed by GIIF including those involving special purpose vehicles (SPV) such as joint venture (JV) and public-private partnership (PPP) projects.
Appiah-Korang brings to the board an excellent track record in the African investment market.
As Director at ECP, a private equity manager focused exclusively on Africa, she is involved in deal sourcing, investment appraisal, execution and value creation and has played a key role in implementing exit strategies for ECP’s investments.
Commenting on her appointment, Appiah-Korang said: “Infrastructure in Africa and in particular Ghana is shaping up to be an exciting investment opportunity for both the public and private sector. In my role at ECP, I see first-hand the positive effect that well selected infrastructure projects can have on regions and know the importance for public investment in such projects.”
“I am delighted to be able to use my experience of working within the Africa private equity industry to support the Ghanaian Government in its commitment to mobilise infrastructure projects in the country.”
The GIIF was set up in 2014 to deal with Ghana’s infrastructure deficit and to provide financial resources to manage, coordinate and invest in a diversified portfolio of infrastructure projects in Ghana for national development.
