Emerging Capital Partners has appointed Oluwaseyi Owodunni as Managing Director of its Nigeria office, based in Lagos.

Owodunni is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and recommending investments, as well as performing due diligence and leading transaction teams.

He joins from Kingdom Africa Management (formerly Kingdom Zephyr) where he was a partner for the Pan-African Investment Partners II fund, a growth-capital private equity fund investing across Africa.

Prior to that, he was the Chief Financial Officer at Starcomms, a Nigerian wireless telecommunications operator that he helped take public on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in 2008.

Before Starcomms, he worked at Lucent Technologies in the US in a variety of product manager roles, on mergers and acquisitions and on business development for the Optical Networking Group.

He commenced his career after his undergraduate degree at KPMG Peat Marwick in Washington D.C. specializing in financial institutions.

Owodunni is a certified public accountant (USA) and a qualified chartered accountant (Nigeria).
