Towers Watson, a global professional services company, and PE Corporate Services (PECS), one of South Africa's leading remuneration and human resources (HR) consultancies, have formed a strategic alliance to better serve the growing HR consulting and data services market in southern Africa.

Graham Shaw, Regional Director for Towers Watson’s Talent & Reward Data & HR Technology business, said: “We are delighted to have reached this stage in our relationship with PECS as it cements an excellent strategic fit, which started in the mid-1990s working on remuneration surveys and executive compensation. We look forward to taking this alliance to the next level and are excited to be doing this in one of the world’s fastest-growing economic regions.”

As part of the alliance, Towers Watson and PECS will work together on the design, communication and implementation of HR programmes for companies - covering pay, compensation, reward and remuneration.

In addition, they will cooperate on the design of change management and communication strategies for organisations undergoing major change, including mergers and acquisitions as well as on organisational workforce strategies related to capabilities, composition and culture.

The agreement also means that Towers Watson’s Data Services products and services, and its Global Grading Methodology, become available to PECS’s clients in South Africa.

Melanie Trollip, CEO at PE Corporate Services, said: “This is a definitive step in our relationship with Towers Watson, which is aimed at enhancing the services we can provide clients, including global companies with operations in southern Africa. We are proud of our leadership position in the South African HR Management marketplace that this alliance cements through the addition of Towers Watson’s world-class HR management systems and approaches.”

Rustum Omar, Executive Chairperson at Towers Watson South Africa, said: “This alliance is a step towards fulfilling our vision to be market leaders in HR consulting and data services in key growth markets and expands our presence and capability in southern Africa where we are an established leader in pensions and investment.”
