EMPEA has partnered with Palico in an effort to ease capital commitments to emerging market fund managers through Palico’s digital marketplace.

All members of EMPEA will have special access to the Palico online marketplace for fundraising, co-investments and secondaries.

Robert van Zwieten, President and CEO of EMPEA, said: “Access to Palico’s digital marketplace can drive private capital flows to emerging market managers by providing a means of discovery and investment for both our LP and GP Members.”

“We are fully supportive of industry innovation and technology that helps reduce the barriers to fundraising and uncovers opportunities in emerging markets,” he said.

The cooperation agreement offers complimentary marketplace access to all of EMPEA’s LP members and free listings for fundraising for GP members. Reduced cost terms are also available for EMPEA fund managers new to the platform.

Palico LP memberships permit the online screening of investable fundraising, secondaries and co-investments based on strategy, location and size; access to virtual data rooms where private placement memorandums and limited partnership agreements can be downloaded; and direct contact with investment sponsors.

Palico also sends LPs alerts on newly available fundraising, secondaries and co- investments, based on their declared interests.

EMPEA members can equally list funds for sale on the secondary market. Transaction-related services are complemented by features that help investment analysis, including performance, benchmarking and news.

“Today, raising private equity money and buying and selling PE secondaries online is an established and rapidly growing part of our industry’s landscape,” said Antoine Drean, Founder and CEO of Palico.

“The EMPEA partnership is not just recognition of that fact, it should prove an important catalyst for the further growth of digital private equity investment,” he said.

Palico is the first global online marketplace for the private equity fund community.

There are currently $64bn in investable opportunities on Palico.

The ability to unite private equity fund investors located in 84 countries with managers based in 104 countries is one of the Palico marketplace’s greatest strengths, at a time when private equity has moved well beyond its traditional roots.

The non-profit EMPEA is the largest organization in the world representing limited partners and general partners with an interest in or focus on private capital investment in emerging markets.

Its more than 300 members manage over $1.2trn in capital.
